The 128th Air National Guard Giving More

Milwaukee's 128th ANG Refueling Wing's Flight to the North Pole Saturday 12/8. After the kids from Children's Hospital Boarded the Santa Liner bound for the North Pole, they landed at Santa's "house" in Sijan Hall to receive a warm welcome
from Santa. Each child had a gift waiting for them that was on their wish list (Air Force Intel is always top notch!)

A sibbling's love

I don't think a little sister could be more smitten with her big brother as Janine was with Lance. Tell us about someone that just made your heart flutter when you were a kid!

What do you do when you run out of tears?

You stand up and move forward to give the very best you can.  Thank you for your strength....thank you for your courage......thank you for helping to light the path for humanity.  We will never forget you!  America and it's patriots cannot be defeated from the outside.  It can only be the turmoil from within that will break us apart.  Stand close to your brothers and sisters, and respect the value of individuality.

A Silent Protest

Who among us are willing to respectfully disagree without malice?

Lance about to board his F4C Phantom Jet in Vietnam.  He grew a mustache as a personal protest to the protesters back in the states as they slept peacefully in their beds at night.  He was still willing to lay down his life and protect those he loved so that they could live and express themselves in freedom, whether he agreed with them or not.

Love and support to one of our Hero's!

Send Hoss some love! He was a participant in Salute to the Troops over Veterans Day. Standing with Lance's sister Janine, Hoss clearly understood what was waiting for him when he returned home to receive his 69th surgery. After a mortal w
ound while serving in Afghanistan, he recovered and returned to active duty~again in Afghanistan, only to loose a leg and greatly affect the other. See the link below for an interview with him before boarding the plane to attend the event. This is just one example of a young man who has put his life on the line for our freedom. Go beyond young soldiers! Our spirit is with you!

Flight to the North Pole

More Who Serve Selflessly~

Wisconsin Air National Guard's 128th Air Refueling Wing in Milwaukee WI will continue a 27 year tradition of the annual "Flight to the North Pole" for families of children with life-threatening illnesses. The ima
ge attached of the decorated KC-135 Stratotanker designated "Santa Liner" for the day, taxi's the families from one part of the base to another. En route, children are given the opportunity to visit the cockpit where they hear a message from Santa Claus via headphone and can "fly" the aircraft with assistance from one of the pilots. Once at their destination - Sijan Hall decorated as the North Pole, families are greeted by Santa and Mrs. Claus as they are ushered inside where dozens of carolers await, and taken to tables for a meal and gifts from Santa. Each child receives a gift or gifts chosen specifically for them. The concept has taken off and is now in 20 cities nationwide.
Up to 50 military volunteers and as many as 50 civilian volunteers join forces for the event.  The behind the scenes planning begins in October.
Stay posted for more information on this year's event.
Again...thank you to all who serve in ways uniquely unto themselves!

What will you be doing today? Let us hear from you.
It was 45 years ago today that Lance prepared for his final mission which ultimately began his final journey home, in God's gentle hands. Rest with grace love and peace dear soldier, son, brother and servant. We love you so!
Lt. Lance Sijan's last mission

Lance's sister Janine spoke to wounded warriors this evening at the 2012 Salute to the Troops at the Mirage in Las Vegas. Hundreds gathered as the service men and women exited the police escorted busses that brought them to crowds of grateful Americans as they honored them with flags, signs, marching bands, and enthusiastic cheers of love and support. A hero's welcome home...as it should be. 3 more days of events planned for them as they are embraced by a community of love and spirit.
What will you do this Veterans Day to honor them past and present? Let us hear from you.

Monday, November 5, 2012

Janine Sijan Rozina will be headed out to the 2012 Salute to the Troops in Las Vegas this week to represent her brother Lance.  This Veterans Day event, led by the Gary Sinise Foundation, will be held to commemorate and pay tribute to all who serve in the military, past and present.  American Airlines and MGM Int'l will be bringing in Veterans for the weekend to commune with one another and raise awareness of all that our military men and women sacrifice to give service before self. Team Sijan supports all who serve on many platforms, with particular honor and respect to our men and women in uniform.  Let the spirit surpass what the mind's eye can imagine.

★ The Latest News from FreedomStar Media™ - November 2012 Edition ★ Sharing the Message of Honorable Leadership

Team Sijan invites you to share another one of our great American Heroes, Lee Ellis.  Lee was a very close friend to Lance while serving in Da Nang AFB in Vietnam. Both Lee and Lance were airmen shot down just 2 days apart from each other.  When Lance returned from a mission and learned that his dear friend Lee had been shot down, he was heart broken.  Two days later on a night mission, November 9, 1967 Lance's plane went down.  And so began his journey until he was captured Christmas Day, December 25, 1967.  He was later taken to the same prison camp in Hanoi where he was just down the hall from Lee Ellis.  They never connected there, but Lee heard Lance as he refused to give out any information while being interrogated.
Lee pays tribute to Lance in this latest online edition of his newsletter.

I just returned from the Air Force Academy where I presented Lance's story at a character and leadership symposium with 39 other speakers. 39 other visionaries that spoke on life experiences from positions of courage and leadership. A vast array of presenters ranging from H Ross Perot, to Aron Ralston, whom which the film "127 Hours" was based upon, to an astronaut. What a humbling experience. And as I looked out upon the faces of all 4400 cadets, I knew our future was in good hands. It's time to change the trajectory for all humanity.
